Author coaching

To get the process started you will be working with Andrew Griffiths, Australia’s leading author coach and founder of Author Academy. Andrew has written 14 books himself, sold in over 65 countries, and he is one of the leading business authors in Australia. Andrew will help you get clarity around your book concept, develop your book plan and guide you through the writing process. To date he has helped over 800 first-time authors to write and publish high-quality non-fiction books, so clearly you are in good hands.

Accountability

Research shows that if you work with an accountability coach you’re more likely to get your book written. Our accountability coach is Darren Finkelstein. He is highly experienced in helping new authors to follow their writing schedule, overcome blockages along the way and to make sure they get their book written on time. He is also the author of four books, so he really knows what to do.

Publishing services

The team at Publish Central provide the publishing services for your book. We take your draft manuscript and edit it to ensure it is well structured, cohesive and engaging for the reader. The edit is a vital part of the publishing process. There are several stages to work through from first edit to final proofreading but – from our experience – the better the edit the better the book.

Our publishing services then move onto everything else, including design of a high-quality, relevant and appropriate cover, internal layout design, setting up the book for online sales (think Amazon and Booktopia) as well as bookshop distribution, printing copies of your book with australia’s best printer, and a host of other services such as securing your ISBNs, creating a chapter sampler for your book and realistic publishing advice at every step of the process.

Post-publish marketing and leveraging of your book

Having the finished book is the end of the publishing process for new authors, but it’s the beginning of the marketing and leveraging process. Books don’t sell themselves and we don’t get media coverage by accident. This part of the Platinum Publishing Package will see you working with Jason Malouin, an extraordinary photographer, to take some powerful author images to use in promotional material and marketing. Mel Hird, our premium Author Show Reel producer, will manage the creation of a promotional video for your book, which is a vital tool for authors these days. (Both are based in Sydney and may require you travelling there for your photographic and video sessions.)

Then the final part of the process is working with Andrew Griffiths again, to learn how to actually leverage your book. Andrew has a detailed online programme that he will guide you through and work 1:1 to help you develop your own book leveraging plan.
