Book editing
If editing is part of your package, your Publish Central editor will fix up spelling mistakes, inconsistencies, incorrect grammar and other errors, but will also do much more than this.

Proofreading
Proofreading is the final quality-control step in the production of your book. Even the best of editors (like ours) won’t pick up every single error in your book, so proofreading is essential.
Printing and distribution
If we manage your printing for you, your book will be printed by Australia’s leading book printer who print for all the major publishers, including printing the Harry Potter books.
Publishing Consultants
The road to self-publishing is both exciting and complex. It’s a pathway that promises boundless creative freedom but demands strategic navigation. As publishing consultants, this is where we step in, helping you bridge the gap between your manuscript and your readers.
Other services
When you come with Publish Central for one of our packages, we always include the little things such as getting ISBNs and barcodes, lodging your book with the National Library of Australia, as well as project management and ongoing publishing advice. We also ensure that your project is fully managed and coordinated from sign-up to delivery of books.
Find out more about these services below.
ISBNs
ISBN stands for International Standard Book Number. Each number is unique and will allow your book to be recognised worldwide. You need different ISBNs for each version of your book, so we provide one for your print edition and one for your ebook version (if you were to do a hardback and paperback version you would need separate ISBNs for those).
Barcodes
The print version of your book needs a barcode. This barcode will be created from your ISBN and so is again unique to your book. The barcode makes the purchase of the hard copy of your book easy.
National Library of Australia listing
Any properly produced book should be listed with the National Library of Australia. We do this for you by entering your book details in the Prepublication Data Service with the National Library of Australia. The details of your book will then be made available to libraries and library suppliers across Australia. Once your book is published you will need to submit an eDeposit (an ebook version) to the National Library, and we can help you with that too if needed.
Project management and ongoing publishing services and advice
We fully project manage your book journey from start to finish for all the services you require. With all of our packages, we will create and maintain your schedule to meet your deadlines, we will coordinate with all external suppliers such as printers, distributors and other providers, and we will always be available to answer questions and to chat by phone or online (and in person if you live in Melbourne).
We also never go away – no, not like stalking. We are here during the creation of your book and after it is published to provide you with the best publishing advice, whether that be about bookshops, ebooks, print on demand, how to use your IngramSpark account or anything else.
